An industrial drying device called a paddle sludge dryer was created specifically to efficiently extract moisture from sludge, a waste product that is semi-solid and is created during wastewater treatment processes. This dryer performs exceptionally well when processing sludge with a high moisture content, producing drier material that can be recycled, disposed of, or processed further.
Inside a heated through, the machine's heated paddle shafts revolve. The specially designed paddles don't have a transit purpose; instead, they are meant to transfer heat as much as possible. This guarantees constant product quality and produces outstanding product temperature control. Through an adjustable overflow on the output side, the product leaves the machine.
The KERONE paddle drier is a great option for sludge drying because of its once-through drying method, which avoids back-mixing. Because of the longer retention period and normal sludge temperature of 100º C, sludge of any kind can be sterilized and hygienically treated. Any residual moisture level is chosen for the final product. This makes the machine eligible for the partial drying procedure (of 35–40% dry solids) that is needed before sludge combustion.
